John Deere Air Intake Heater Kit LVB25110 for 5525 Anyone put the 'Air Intake Heater Kit' on thier 5525 (or like tractor?). On my turbo motor, the heater replaces a spacer block that sits between the intake tube and the manifold. There are factory gaskets on both mating surfaces. New Holland/Ford. Here's a link where you can download the install book for that kit.the relay info for your tractor is on page #10just click the below link, then the 'click here to download' in the yellow boxI am a little confused. Maybe you can help. The kit does not show any wire leads in it (per thier info).
I called the dealer and they did not know for sure but guessed the 5525 wireing harness already had the wires in it. I told them the instructions show otherwise but no one really knew for sure. Have you or anyone else put this kit on a 5525??thanks. My brains totally fell out on this one. I just finished up the install when I remembered that I was going to document the install with pictures.
Sorry.Anyway, the install was pretty straight forward. Here's what I learned.1. I didn't remove the loader.
I should have. Without the mast and boom, accessibility would have been much better.2. This pre-heater is used on many different tractors and so the kit has a pile of parts that may or may not pertain to your particular install. The instructions also cover all the different tractors that this kit installs on.
The only discrepancy I found was that the tractor had more gaskets than the manual though it did.3. On my turbo motor, the heater replaces a spacer block that sits between the intake tube and the manifold.
There are factory gaskets on both mating surfaces. They are a bugger to remove. Make sure you have a good razor blade scraper and a bit of patience. Removing the gaskets would have been easier had I removed the loader as indicated in lesson #1.4. I painted the heater before installation. I just taped over the gasket mating surfaces with blue masking tape.
Worked slick.5. The wiring seems a little ganky. The kit uses a standard Hella relay and cheap spade connectors. Wire routing is very arbitrary. I guess it's a tractor, not a museum piece. The directions seem to indicate that the new 5E tractors have a proper connector that the relay plugs directly into.6.
The kit says a battery with a minimum of 925 CCA is required. I just have the factory 750 CCA battery. I guess we'll see if this works out.So after the install, I started the tractor. The difference is pretty remarkable. She fired right up with no traditional puff of white smoke and no cranking. Granted it's about 50 degrees out today, but I assume this will still translate into easier starting in much colder weather.
